Hi im looking for a specific 3 chapter Thorki fic that i was reading last week & now i cannot find it & it’s killing me bcs i was just a few sentence away from finishing it! Thor & Loki were kids at the 1st chapt & T asked Frigga why people hold hands so she said that its bcs they luv each other so T&L started holdings hands until they got scolded by Odin & the 2nd chapt they r college students living together in an apartment & its T’s bday & they started hugging & neck kissing but still awkward

Ughh, I know the fic you’re talking about because I definitely read the first chapter, but I can’t find it T_T (I figure it’s somewhere on my massive to-read list though, so if I do happen across it later, I’ll put it in a comment or reblog on this post.)

Anyway, my memory suggests that it came from a rec by either @raven-brings-light or @thotki, so maybe one of them remembers what it’s called?

I don’t remember reccing it, but I remember I started reading it at some point. So I just went back and looked at my AO3 history since like June and I can’t find anything that looks like it. Which probably means it got deleted? Sorry I can’t be more helpful. :/

The talented and hardworking @bettsfic tagged me in this, and @star-thief sent me an ask.

I don’t know if these are my favorites of my fics, but they are the ones that come to mind when I think of things I’m proud of and that I’d like people to read.

Retcon, thorki, ~90k

I have never written a novel length work so easily as I wrote Retcon. The characters flowed, the story formed exactly as I wanted it to. I’m also really proud of how I worked with existing canon, and reworked Thor and Loki to fit their circumstance in the fic. (Loki with his post-IW personality, Thor with his pre-Thor one attitudes).

Homeland, thorki, 4k?

I still haven’t decided if Homeland is a one shot or is going to have a continuation, but it doesn’t really matter to me. I am so proud of the worldbuilding that I did with this jotun!thor fic, and that’s why I’m putting it here.

The Third Rule, kylux, ~17k

Writing this fic felt a little like tearing the words out from inside me. It was absolutely a mess to work on, the subject matter was really dark (getting over childhood abuse, (self) brainwashing). And yet, after all that, I’m really proud of the results.

the price of dreams and hauntings (alt title North End), galennic, ~21k

The first piece of historical fiction I ever completed, this 20s era noir fic is also the basis for a novel that will get finished some day. I loved doing the research, and I’m really pleased with the result, even if I agree with everyone who advised me to expand the work.

The Monsters We Keep, kylux, 5k

It was a toss up between this, At the Edge of Vision, and At the Mercy. They’re all horror tinged/horror fictions that explore serious themes (abusive relationships, BDD, and drug abuse respectively.) Monsters won because it’s the one that I can’t leave behind. There are moments of descriptive beauty in it that still influence my writing years later, and it’s also the basis for a novel I’m working on, The Honeysuckle Tree.

hairy body where he totally owns Loki.

Pimping my own fic from 2016, when I suddenly had a craving for dirty Thor (almost physically as mentally) lusting after the young, righteous Loki. Extreme dubious consent and purple prose. But I had such a great time writing it!

    Like so many things astolat’s ever written, you’ll be at turns astonished and heartbroken, but ultimately you’ll come away feeling like you’ve read an incredible novel. [Post The Avengers, canonverse]
  • Loki’s Lessons by WolfenM 9.9K words, G.
    There’s a monster ravaging Vanaheim, and who better to deal with it than the two princes, Sif, and the warriors three. Featuring a Loki who just wants to prove himself and a wonderfully supportive Fandral. [Pre-canon]
  • Acta Non Verba by @claricechiarasorcha. 29K words, E.
    Clarice could write a phonebook, and I’d still read it, just to have a chance to read of her writing. I’m a huge sucker for hair petting and similar things, and this fic really delivers. [canonverse]
  • The Nature of Sacrifice by @hotchoco195. 20K words, E.
    The old sex-pollen standby. This one is FANTASTIC. It’s hot, and emotional, and funny, and just wonderfully well put together. [canonverse, post The Avengers, warning for dubcon as with all sex-pollen]
  • The Holiday by @spacerenegades. 90K words, M.
    I think at one point while reading this I found myself with a half eaten piece of pizza in my hand, sobbing desperately and yelling at my computer. If that doesn’t convince you to read this, I don’t know what will. [modern AU, also 50% Stucky]
  • Cocky Boys by TheBookHunter, 56K words, E.
    A strangely moving, incredibly memorable pornstar au. The author gets Thor and Loki’s personalities spot on, and manages to maintain a thoroughly lighthearted tone throughout, while still touching on some really serious issues. [modern au]

I’m pooped from working on all night so I can’t think of any good stories but I would like to rec the best thing I’ve read this week and that is the latest chapter of Landslide by Vadianna that involves one of the best first time kylux scenes I can remember reading, and I’ve read a lot of them. And a big THANK YOU to all the writers who are still going strong for this ship almost two years running!

Nice! I adore @vadianna‘s writing, so I definitely want to check it out. Thank you so, so, so much for the recommendation!
