So I put my music library on shuffle and got “Maybe” by Alison Krauss and Union Station, which I adore. It actually works well for Thorki, with Loki angsting about how his life is going:

Trying to sort the whole thing out

But it also works well for snamione, at least in the incarnations I really like, ones where Hermione is learning to stand up for herself, but also take pleasure in her relationships at the same time.

So the last sentence I wrote is an academic one: In essence, because Kotliarevshchyna functioned as a fandom – conservative in fandom-specific style and genre, innovative in substance –  it formed a carefully walled community that not only stood up to increasing Russification, but also allowed an outgrowth of wider literature, and eventually the formation of formal literary culture, one that replaced the informal literary exchange characteristic of literary fandom.

Since that’s not really in the spirit of this, and also because I don’t think I know that many people, here’s the last fiction sentence I wrote, from an a/b/o fic I’m currently working on

!! I feel like I first need to dig and ask what WIPs are you writing? Any that you’re most excited about?

  • I’m working on an a/b/o fic that I’m really excited about! It features the beloved unexpected heat, and I’ve just rethought it to be set in the What if Jotunheim.
  • I’m continuing with my other Jotunheim au, Homeland where Loki and Thor believe they’re twin brothers fated to be lovers… until they find out that they aren’t.
  • A sci fi au longfic where Loki is the rebel son of a interstellar shipping magnate, and Thor is his brother, who ends up joining him in his life of rebellion.

Those are the ones I’m most excited about.

E: If you wrote a sequel to Rites of Spring, what would it be about?
Hmmmmm… That’s a hard question, because so much of the thought process behind the fic was collaborative. I think I would probably want to actually follow through and write a (m)preg fic, because I think Rites Loki and Thor would really really enjoy exploring that part of Thor’s role as fertility god.

I: Do you have a guilty pleasure in fic (reading or writing)?
Are we counting reading bedsharing fics as a guilty pleasure? Or daddy kink? Otherwise I’m not really sure if I have a guilty pleasure. I like making my characters emotionally suffer, and I like angst, but I’m SUPER WILLING to admit that.

M: Got any premises on the back burner that you’d care to share?
OMG so many. So right now, I’m working on a a/b/o modern au fic. I also have a ballet au on the backburner, a fic about thor as model for a gay bear charity calendar, a sci fi au based on my short fic Of Jobs and Stars, and a pre-canon fic where loki mocks thor for doing sex wrong.

The first character you loved:

  • SW: LEIA ORGANA. As a child my best friend and I used to play that he was Luke (his name was Luke) and I was Leia, and we were going on adventures through the galaxy.
  • M: in the comics, Cap. When he died back in 2007 I literally sat there crying in the middle of my dance studio. In the films… probs Cap as well 😉
  • SG: I actually watched Atlantis first, back when it was airing, so Mckay was definitely the first character I loved.

The character you never expected to love so much:

  • SW: Orson Krennic. I definitely didn’t really see what everyone was excited about in the leadup to R.O., but then when I saw the film I was like OMG THIS CHARACTER IS PERFECT.
  • M: Tony Stark in MCU. Honestly, he wasn’t my favorite in the comics, but RDJ’s realization of him is so perfect I got drawn in.
  • SG: Nicholas Rush, who I was all set up to hate, and then fell in love with.

The character you relate to most:

  • SW: Obi-Wan Kenobi. He’s got the perfect mix of recklessness, caution, mistake making, and deep feeling to draw me in.
  • M: Thor! So much pressure, a complicated family, and a desire just to do the right thing make Thor one of the most relatable characters ever for me.
  • SG: Daniel Jackson. He’s sweet and caring, but also uncompromising and absolutely an asshole sometimes.

  • SW: Padme. She’s horrid some of the time, but she’s such an interesting character to me now.
  • M: Pepper. For a while there, I just felt like WTF why do we care about Pepper in the MCU. Then I changed my tune.
  • SG: Young. I really was on Rush’s side for the beginning of SGU, but I ended up loving them both.
