1) Dostoevsky is not all he’s cracked up to be. Religious moralizing under the veil of complex analyses of human nature aren’t as innovative as he wants to pretend they are. The world should stop getting so excited over The Brothers K!

2) Horror probably isn’t really genre fiction because it’s simply a way of playing on the themes that other literature won’t explore, rather than occupying a particular space in the human imagination.

3) Going after another author personally after that author is dead is a shitty move. Phi/ip Pu/lman sucks. Also, for other reasons P.P. sucks, see comment #1.

Well, I might have said that you weren’t as absurd as you seem but… ❤

Ok anyway. Um, unpopular opinion: I think that the final episodes weren’t actually as well done aesthetically as the earlier ones that season, or in seasons 1 and 2. Some of the takes are much shorter than necessary, and lend a little bit of a hollywood air to something that doesn’t need cheap tricks to ramp up the tension. The color palette is also less complex than earlier in the show, and is less interesting – I know they’re drawing from illustrations of Blake’s works, but there are better ways to do that than a strict adherence to the palette of the paintings.

there any glory in facing the Midgarders, my king?” Loki asks. He
reaches out with a bare foot, pushing Thor’s legs open and teasing
the inside of Thor’s thighs with his toes.

This is, oddly, from the last chapter of a Thorki canonverse au I’m writing, because I managed to write the last chapter first, and am now going back and filling in the earlier ones.

11. Which character do you have the most in common with? (in my wips)
I would be lying through my teeth if I didn’t say that I have the most in common with Thor. I don’t have nearly the anger problems, but I’m more like him than Kylo, or Hux, or either of my main characters in my novel. If I had an active Galennic WIP, I’d say Galen in a heartbeat though.

7. What are you most proud of?
There’s a part in the Thorki fic I’m working on where Natasha and Thor talk about how human life looks to someone who lives for thousands and thousands of years. And I’m really happy with the ideas underlying the conversation. I’m not sure I’m getting them across as well as I could, but at least I’m trying.

Galen Erso!!! I had so much fun working out how he behaves as a person, and figuring out how to write him.

Galennic. I struggled a lot with writing this year, and one of the things that kept me inspired was being able to write about Galen and Orson’s incredible complex and ever varying relationship.

10. Your proudest fic from 2017:
The Third Rule. I FINISHED IT. I’ve struggled a lot with this fic – I built it up in my mind as some magnum opus or love letter to kylux, and in the process got scared of my own writing. It took a long time to get out of that place of fear and figure out how to finish the story.
